Pastor & Wife

Bishop Calvin J. Gould Sr.

Bishop Calvin J. Gould Sr. was introduced to the Apostolic Faith on June 15, 1975. His life was forever changed that year when he went down in Jesus name and was filled with the Holy Ghost. Bishop Gould faithfully served his late pastor, Bishop Dr. Nelson George Turner, for over forty years. He was dedicated to his pastor and the legacy that he would leave. But God had another calling for Bishop Gould. He would replace the man he called his mentor and father in the Gospel.

Bishop Gould worked diligently in church as Young People Leader, (Local, State, and National), Elder, Ordained Minister, Board Member, Sunday School Teacher, and Altar Worker. He has been a Junior Deacon, Brotherhood Secretary, Usher, Clean-up Team Captain, Chief of Security for JCAC, and Pastors Choir President. His positions are great in number and his resume is steeped in the Apostolic doctrine. Bishop Gould has devoted his life to this Ministry and helping the people of God to make Heaven their home.

Now, as the Pastor of Greater Beth-el Temple (GBT), he strives to make his calling and election sure with the help of God. His wife, First Lady Valerie Gould, is by his side and has been for forty years. They are leading, as God leads them to build God’s Kingdom.

First Lady Valerie M. Gould

Lady Gould was baptized in Jesus’ name at the age of seven. At the age of 12 she received the baptism of the Holy Ghost during Sunday night testimony service at Greater Bethlehem Temple (GBT). She has faithfully served three pastors in many capacities across several ministries. From her service as a Sunday School Teacher, a Church Secretary, Usher and Choir Director, Lady Gould has always had a heart for the people of God. As Chairlady of the Mother’s Club, she seeks to help parents rear their children as the Lord has ordained. Lady Gould serves by her husband’s side as he leads the people of God. She assists Bishop Gould in ministering to families on how to address natural matters through spiritual instruction. Bishop and Lady Gould have been happily married for over 40 years. She is the mother to four children: Rosetta, Crystal, Calvin II, and Candace. She is also a grandmother to 8 grandchildren. Lady Gould’s goal has been to keep Jesus first in her life, knowing that if she keeps him first, he will add everything she needs.
